How would you describe yourself?
I’m a work in progress. I’m intelligent, but I am constantly seeking more knowledge. I’m kind, but I could be more patient. I’m creative, but I could take more risks every now and then. I’m punctual, but I could be better at not procrastinating.
How long have you been involved in your business?
Why did you choose your particular business?
I started for the health aspect. After having 5 kids, I was always exhausted and tired of having to buy new clothes because I had gained too much weight to fit into my clothes. So when I lost 18 pounds in 3 weeks and kicked my 3-Pepsis-a-day habit, I knew I was going to use AdvoCare for the rest of my life. Then I saw families who were living the lifestyle that I wanted and the business opportunity was just a natural step. I love that I am helping people in two of the most important issues affecting American households today: health and finances. It is truly fulfilling to know that my success depends on my ability to make real and long-lasting impact in the lives of other people who are looking to gain more out of life.
What keeps you motivated?
My family and the dreams that my husband and kids have for their lives. Believing that I have been called to do this business in order to help other people realize their purpose. Knowing that the destinies of many families depend on my saying “yes” and sticking and staying so that I can provide hope to those who are looking for an opportunity like AdvoCare.
Tell us a little about your family.
My family means everything to me. I’ve been happily married to my best friend for 7 years. Together we have 5 amazing children. We named them after presidents because we are committed to raising champions and leaders who have hearts for service and courage to dream and build a better world than what they live in. Our minivan is nicknamed “Air Force One” and we have a German shepherd named Sergeant.
How do you prioritize family and your business?
Family always comes first. I love that AdvoCare is very much a family-oriented family. In the new distributor packet, the first question they ask is, “What is your purpose for doing AdvoCare.” The second question is, “Aside from your faith, family and job, what are you willing to sacrifice to achieve that purpose?” It’s a company that has its priorities straight: God, family, job then, AdvoCare.
How do you relax?
Spend time with my family, read, exercise, watch tv.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I will be a stay at home mom and living a life on my terms. My husband and I will be full-time parents to our kids and we will be providing them the very best education and training so that they can fulfill their dreams and destinies. My business will consist of champions and leaders who are impacting the lives of others and through AdvoCare we will be helping people get healthy and gain financial freedom.
Biggest life lesson learned?
God has a plan.
What is your secret to success?
Honor people where they are and always lead with love.
All Entrepreneurs encounter bad days. How do you handle yours?
I turn to God and read scripture. Then I read my purpose statement and focus on my “why”. I’m also blessed with dear friends who are willing to lend an ear.
What was your sweetest success story?
There’s not just one that I can single out, but anytime that I work with a client who has struggled with weight loss all their life and starts out being very skeptical because they have tried everything and they get great results by completely flipping their way of thinking about how to lose weight the healthy way, it’s always a huge victory.
